EUROPEAN HOME TEXTILES MANUFACTURERS TURNED THEIR FACES TO TURKEY
American
and European home textiles companies are interested
in working with Turkey instead of Far East. Company
representatives who visited EVTEKS to learn more
about Turkish manufacturers stated that they were
not satisfied with the production in China. The fair
which hosted 18.000 international professional
visitors, is on the way to be the “Number 1”.
Professional buyers from Europe, The USA and
Russia made a mark on EVTEKS - 14. Istanbul Home
Textiles Exhibition, organized on 21-25 May 2008.
Foreign companies which were not satisfied with the
production in Far East and especially in China
visited Istanbul to learn more about Turkish home
textile production and products. Foreign buyers, who
stated that they are very fond of working with
Turkey, also emphasized their appreciation for
domestic manufacturers’ products.
The fair, organized with the
participation of 740 companies, hosted a total
number of 81.000 visitors, 18.000 of which were
international. Exhibitor companies of EVTEKS, the
second biggest home textiles exhibition on the
world, and the biggest exhibition in Turkey among
all sectors, were satisfied with the organization.
The most important development in this year’s fair
was that European and American buyer companies which
were working with Far East countries for production
started to turn their faces to Turkey.
Turkish home textiles manufacturers are hopeful
about the future of the sector. The companies had
meetings with European, American and Russian buyer
delegations during the fair and they stated that
their products won the approval of these
delegations. Those companies expressed that they
were not glad with Chinese production and they want
to cooperate with Turkey again. Many Europeans
working with Far East state they could not get the
quality they expect.
